BeeSustain Showcased at MUSAE Final Exhibition in Belgrade

Beehold proudly presented its BeeSustain project at the final exhibition of the Horizon Europe funded MUSAE program, held at the Palace of Science in Belgrade. The exhibition, titled GROW, COOK, CODE, brought together 11 artist - SME collaborations from across Europe to address urgent environmental and food system challenges through the fusion of art and technology.
BeeSustain was created to tackle a critical problem: the decline of bee populations caused by climate change, habitat loss, and the spread of synthetic honey. These factors reduce nectar availability, hurt pollination, and threaten biodiversity. Beekeepers often lack precise, data-driven tools to decide when and where to move hives for maximum honey yield and pollination impact.
Our solution integrates IoT hive monitoring devices, microclimatic sensors, and an advanced AI prediction engine to forecast nectar flow with high accuracy. This empowers beekeepers to act at the right moment, optimizing both honey production and pollination benefits. The results are now available in the newly launched BeeSustain mobile app (Google Play link), which also connects citizens to biodiversity protection by guiding them in planting bee-friendly flora and contributing local environmental data.
The MUSAE residency allowed us to combine science and art through our unique Art Book, a visually engaging and interactive guide to plants and biodiversity that directly feeds into AI training data. This blend of technology, ecology, and creativity was met with great interest at the Belgrade exhibition, marking a successful conclusion of our MUSAE journey — and an exciting new chapter for beekeepers and nature lovers across Europe.
